ATI predictor score: 99% chance of passing with an 80.7% adjusted score

Saunders assessment test: 74%

Prep-U: I think that anyone could achieve a high mastery if they worked on it endlessly. I'm always feeling skeptical of this program when I use it. Some areas I've reached mastery level 7, others 1.

Nursing school: not a good indicator but one of 5 honors students for what's its worth.

I just can't figure can't figure out my readiness. I've been content reviewing with Saunders but I don't feel any improvement when I do questions. I've always been good with pharm but Q's about meds I've never heard of pop up. And forget about SATAs....

I'm curious about anyone out there who has taken it and used some of these resources above. Thoughts about which helped, or strategies I can use for the next 5 days?

I got an 99% chance of passing with ATI scoring and 83. Today I took nclex-rn, I stopped at 75 questions and got the "good pop up," that's suppose to mean that I passed! :-)

What did you use to study and how intense did you study, kat?

I studied very intensely... I will not lie. I had done research in this forum and through google about what people used to pass the NCLEX. Although my school used ATI throughout our program, and I had made 4 level 3's and 4 level 2's on all the subject exams ( if your school uses ati you may be familiar with that level stuff) I had read that there was a bit of discrepancy with that predictor from ATI. I don't want to scare you. In hindsight, and if for fact I passed, I think ATI alone was very helpful. However, if you do not continue to study after your "Predictor test" every day, your chances of passing goes down. So, to study, I bought the Kaplan Stratgies Book, and did 1-7 Kaplan questions trainers I found for free online. I did NOT buy the Kaplan program or Q bank because it's 500 dollar and frankly I can't afford it. I actually think that ATI questions, and just doing at least 100 questions a day and looking up everything I didn't know would have been enough. If you don't understand a rationale or the "why" behind an answer, research it, look it up.

Okay, I think I over studied but I used:

*Saunders 5th edition (re did all the questions I got wrong in the book. I used it to study for the comprehensive ATI already so I had already done the 1000 questions in the book, this time around, I just did the questions I marked wrong)

*Kaplan Question trainers (I didn't go back over all the question trainers after I did them...didn't have time)

*Kaplan 2013-2014 stratgies book ( did all the questions in the book and the questions on the disk about 600 questions)

*Priority Delegation and Assignment 2nd edition by Lacharity (everyone says it's a stabple must have book...and I agree, I had a lot of what do you do first questions..."

*Saunder 5th edition disk for the Alternate format questions/Select all that apply( I did all 199 select all that apply. I feel they are my weakness so I wanted to practice them. If you go to study mode, you can just select to do only those questions)

AND two days before the exam....I redid ATI tests...I actually think maybe just maybe ATI would have been enough.

You don't have to use a lot of resources. Most of cohort that graduated used 1 or 2 resources...

1 girl had a 99% chance of passing with ATI, just did the Saunders book questions, took the test 1 week after graduating on May 8, and passed 75 questions.

The most important thing is to do questions and research and understand...really understand the concept of the rationale.

I studied two weeks. The first week after I graduated, I didn't open a book, I was tired. So you can give yourself a break. But once you set your test date, BUCKLE DOWN! Take breaks here and there...but always be doing questions...

Thanks for all your input. Out of all those resources, which had questions that in your opinion seemed most like what was on the nclex?

So far, prep-u and the ATI predictor seemed on the same level. Saunders has made me feel totally stupid in terms of not being familiar with specific content or perhaps difficulty level of the questions.

Where did you find the free Qtrainers?

And our school didn't use ATI throughout, just the predictor.

I found them online, but I don't think they are that necessary to pass. Used to be you could google and find it, but I don't see it on slide share .com anymore.

Saunders is good. I would do ALL the questions in the book if you have it. That's what I did, and then I went over the questions I missed. Make sure to mark the questions that you miss so that you can go back and review just those missed questions.

ATI and Kaplan were most like NCLEX.

My school used ATI. My first predictor was 87% the second after a ATI Live review provided by the school took my predictor to 99%. I completed the entire NCLEX made easy review book and read the ATI comprehensive review book. I took the NCLEX on May 27th. The test ended on 75 questions. I felt the test resembled an ATI proctored exam. Hope this helps.
