Nclex Experience

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I recently found out that I passed my NCLEX-PN, So I want to share the tools that workED for me (My Own Opinion and Perspective about NCLEX).

1st Attempt (June 2014) - I studied my books from my nursing school. Their nothing like Kaplan, Saunders , or etc. PVT works. I ended up on CC page. OFFICIAL RESULT: FAILED! STOPPED AT 110 question.

2nd Attempt (December 2014) - I used Kaplan on Demand (Content Review and Questions) only. They sent me the content book but I didn't read it all, because I thought the Kaplan qbank itself is enough. PVT works. I got to the CC page try to put my info and my card was declined since it didn't have money. OFFICIAL RESULT: FAILED! STOPPED AT 205 question.

3rd Attempt (May 2015) - I solely used NCSBN for 3 weeks and Kaplan Content Book on that 3 weeks- Nothing else!!!! - I didn't touch the pharmacology part at all. I answered all the Questions and read the Rationale.

TRIED THE PVT BEFORE 24 HOURS with a invalid expiration date and got the GOOD POP UP. 4 WEEKS AFTER. OFFICIAL RESULT : PASSED!!! STOPPED AT 135 question.

CONCLUSION (OWN CONCLUSION, OWN OPINION) !!!!! - A VERY STRONG CONTENT BACKGROUND IS THE KEY ON PASSING IT. It's not about strategy on answering the questions. It's not about how Kaplan nor NCSBN are structured like NCLEX. STRATEGY WON'T WORK IF YOU DONT have any IDEA ABOUT THE QUESTION OR THE CHOICES!!! Just the read Question at least 3 times. Find out what its really asking. So if you study your content. You can easily narrowed the RIGHT ANSWER. Don't OVERTHINK! Most of the time the ANSWER IS ALREADY THERE! Hope this helps . . . Goodluck Future Nurses.

LASTLY, THIS IS MY OWN EXPERIENCE ABOUT THE NCLEX AND PVT, NOT A TOPIC TO ARGUE ABOUT!

So I'm taking my NCLEX PN for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. My 2nd attempt I did all questions. I have such a big fear of failing again. How should I study on a day to day basis. Can someone talk to me please
