Kaplan Review Phase 1. Need suggestions!

  1. 1
I just started my kaplan review last monday and followed its study plan. So far I'm on Phase 1, I took the diagnostic test and scored 51%. Then, I took the question trainers 1-3 and these are my scores 49%, 52% and 56%. Now I plan to watch and finish all the lecture videos before I start my online live classes in two weeks. Not sure if the videos are helpful but I am a visual learner.

Does anyone of you took kaplan or have any experiences with its review? What are the meaning of my low scores? Should I freak out? The book said that to aim 60% and above. Isn't that low enough? Any suggestions?

Also, how come I can not view the rationales for the diagnostic exam? I paid a lot but I am not able to review it. -_- Do you know? Please share. Thanks.

I passed nclex last month and my scores were never at "Kaplan's standards". I feel that if you are above 50% than that is okay. But I do suggest going over content. I found my scores were low because I was weak in certain areas (such as maternity, neuro, etc..)

Hi atom2013. How much did you pay for your review? Coz I'm planning to enroll in Kaplan too.

How did you go over content? Did you watch the lesson videos? Any tips on how you passed using kaplan review? Congrats by the way

I enrolled online on their main website. It originally costs $499 but I got a promo code of $50 off so I paid $449. Not sure if it still works, but if you decide to enroll, try to use this promo code: LIVE50. You may also check google for other kaplan promo codes. Good luck!

I did the Kaplan live review, I'm currently finishing up the question trainers and qbank. My scores thus far are: diagnostic 57%, qt1 57% qt2 57% qt3 54%, readiness 57%, qt4 59%, qt5 63%, qt6 65%. After the readiness test I went back and watch all the hurst videos and read over my Saunders book. So make sure you are comfortable with your content and then apply the strategies learned from Kaplan. you should see improvement in your score thereafter.

I took Kaplan review when I was in school and my scores where always in 50's 60's range. The videos are very helpful and I would suggest doing as many questions as possible. I don't know why it does not let you see the rationales but it should. I passed NCLEX with 75 questions and got around 50 multiple choice (select all that apply) questions which meant I was in the hard questions most of the test. I actually found Kaplan to be harder in a way than the actual NCLEX. I also did the HURST review.

You got to see the rationales for the diagnostic test? 50 Satas? Wow! That's a lot. Congrats!
