Just received my failure letter :(

Nursing Students NCLEX

So I took the NCLEX last monday and just got my mail in the letter today saying that I didn't pass. This was my fourth time taking the test and I guess now I am on to my fifth. I reached 265 questions with this test, with all categories "near passing level." To study I used Kaplan, Saunders, Saunders Q&A, and a little bit of Hurst. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what worked best for them. Thanks!

Hm, did you answer all the questions using in the Kaplan Qbank, question trainers, etc.?

yes, I have gone through all of the material in full pretty much. So you can say I have used the material four times already. My question trainers were always in the mid 60's, they have gotten better since the first couple of times (70's) but I'm not sure if that's because the questions are familiar and I'm answering due to memory or if I'm really getting it.

With this last test I noticed how much more complex the questions were compared to the question from Kaplan. There were in fact similar questions to the Kaplan QBank, however the answer choices were much more harder to distinguish.

Which NCLEX did you sit for? PN or RN? Which state? I'm asking because I too recently but have yet to receive my letter. And wondering if you had to take some kind if refresher course being that you have failed it 4 times. In my state if you fail 3 times you have to take a course before you can apply with the board of nursing. How was the Hurst review for you? I found it better than Kaplan for me.

I took the RN in California. I'm not really aware of any rule that requires you to take a refresher after a certain amount of attempts, but i did take a refresher through D&D Nursing. Its a group based in the bay area. I found it helpful, but the questions weren't similar to nclex material, but they were helpful to practice with. I found Hurst to be a good refresher too, however I only had the video material. The videos were definitely more helpful than Kaplan.

Gotcha. In NJ if you fail 3x you must take a 30 hr refresher course.
