In Utah 3 yr deadline...passed!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello,

I live in Utah and graduated with an AAS for RN degree in May 2011. I have taken the test twice, this second time I am still not sure if I passed and am even scared to find out as my deadline is up, but I was stopped at 230 questions, so that worries me that I didn't pass. Can anyone tell me what the deadline in NV or CA is and if its legal for me to go and take the test out there? At first I felt like all is lost but now I feel like I shouldn't give up that easily.

Well I got the letter in the mail today and I did not pass! But by the way this letter reads I may still have a chance to retake here in utah, at least thats what it sounds like to me. This is what it says...

(1) An applicant for licensure under Title 58, Chapter 31b shall pass the applicable licensure examination within three years from the date of completion or graduation from a nursing education program or four attempts whichever is later. An individual who does not pass the applicable licensure examination within three years of completion or graduation or four attempts is required to complete another approved nursing education program.

Am I reading wrong or does that not say I have two more attempts?

Specializes in Pain, critical care, administration, med.

I understand it to be whatever comes first either taking the exam x amount of times or 3 yrs from date of graduation.

Oh ok, I wasnt sure, thank you

Specializes in Emergency Department.

It appears that as long as you fall within the 3 years or four attempts, you take the exam. Once you've taken (and failed) the 4th exam or gone past the 3 year mark (without passing), you have to retake the entire program.

That's how I read the passage.
