I am so elated today. I found out I passed the NCLEX RN. Lord has really answered my prayers, I have been sad and depressed for the past two days waiting for the results. I thought those 48 hours were the longest days of my life. The world stopped for 48 hours, I just looked at my wall. :)
Hopefully this will inspire others who are going to be taking their NCLEX RN soon.
Here's what I used to study for this test:
1. Kaplan live class course. It's expensive but it's worth it. They really teach you how to eliminate answers and boosts your confidence level when you sit for your board. Do all of the questions in Kaplan so there's no "what if" etc. etc. lol.
2. Prioritization, Delegation, Assessment by lacharity. This book is really helpful in tackling prioritization questions, such as who to see FIRST, or what to report etc. etc. Please buy this book, I can not stress this enough. Yes it is harder than the real nclex, but that's okay, you need to be able to answer hard questions too.
3. Saunders CD questions. I have the blue 4th edition and this works for content review. I suggest doing practice hundreds or thousand questions before going to sit for your exam. This is the way to train your mind in tackling the nclex. But it's okay to look at some concepts if you really don't know, just don't go overboard.
4. Frye's 2500 Nursing Bullets NCLEX RN-- this book is old, but it still work wonders. I think i saw quite a few questions that came from this book.
I think having more than one resource is the key to passing NCLEX. Kaplan isn't enough, you need to practice other questions too. Most of all, don't forget that there's a higher power that's looking over you, and you must trust him. I stormed heavens with prayers for this exam. God heard my prayers.
I came (to the test center), I saw (the test), I conquered (I passed it).
if you have any question, please private message me.
I extend all the peace and love and best wishes to those of you going to take it.
