:uhoh3: Okay . . . I take the NCLEX-PN on Monday . . . YIKES.

Studying by book wasn't helping it seemed like. I looked for a prep course online and went through http://www.petersons.com. You can buy 90 days access for 24.00. I don't know if anyone has tried those practice tests or not. they're 180 NCLEX-PN practice questions. When your done it will tell you your score and the ones that you got correct or incorrect. I have taken two out of three tests. I scored very poorly on the first test I took. Then I brushed up after reading the results, and took another test the next day. I failed miserably again!!!!

I eliminate the obvious wrong answers . . . but choosing between the two more reasonable answers is where I go wrong.

I don't think I study any less than anyone else would!

I cant afford a pricey prep course.

I have to pass this Monday, or I will have to take it again with even less study time under my belt as I will not have enough PTO for months.

PLEASE! Some one! Give me some helpful hints!

I've had unanswered questions in this discussion board before, and I really hope that this won't be another one.

4 days and I test.:uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21::uhoh21:

Just try to take your time answering questions and for the ones you get wrong, do not be discouraged, just review the rationales behind them. If the study material that you are using is not working then feel free to try something else. Have you tried the NCSBN site from the makers of nclex? The NCSBN site has reasonable prices at weekly intervals. Try not to worry as you have a big exam coming up and do not need the extra anxiety. If you feel as though you are not ready then maybe you should reschedule. I do agree with je_da, you should pray for God's guidance.

relax, stressing can make it worse, try and take the day before off from studying When in the exam room, take your time, read the question

It will take practice, so never give up.

For word from them we may yearn.

But once they catch on to what we are doing,

They may lift us up in return.

Our Heavenly Father never tears us down;

We do that to one another.

Encouraging, He lifts us up

To love and build up each other.

FUTURE RN_MANDI, just a few words of encouragement.

Thank you all for your advice and word of encouragement. Today I have done practice tests over and over again until I got the wrong answers right. I'm not nearly as anxious as I was last night, because I am doing a bit better on the tests. I will check out the site . . . and pray :)

Good luck on your test too Barbara!

Thanks again,

Hello FutureRN!!! Its ok to get anxious, it is normal because taking an exam really causes disturbance in our mind, acts and emotions but you also needs to some limitations on it, deep breath and relax and remember that "others made it, and you can also do it!!!

I remembered i'm also that way before i took NCLEX exam. My friend took the test few weeks earlier than I. She is really brigther than me but she failed and it caused me to get more anxious. But then I realized that I still have more chance to pass the exam since i haven't taken the exam yet that time. And so I studied more, focus, and tons of prayers. God Bless you futureRN & i'll keep you in my prayers. Take care!

Lots of luck on your exam!! I know I took my NCLEX exam on a Monday, Omg that weekend was soo slow. I was a mess, but I just tried to say..Ok its just another practice test. Go in with that attitude, do ur best, relax, find your study mode, I was in that study mind..and it helped, I talked to myself..quietly lol..followed the techiques Kaplan showed me, and the next day I found out I was an RN.

Lots of luck on Monday!! Ill be thinking of you!!!! :)

OK

when you are looking at a question, ask what is the question asking???

I took my RN exam, so the decision tree is a lot different as in prioritizing for RN.

But, I can say this, look at each answer slowly...

read question slowly

when u come to your answer..ask yourself..why is this the right answer?

It needs to make sense. And ask is this the right outcome I want for the patient?

I hope that helps

Lots of luck tommorow!!!;)

That makes a lot of sense. I will try that strategy tomorrow.
