HELP with NCLEXXX!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

helo everyone ! i have been reading this forum for quite some time and got alot of advise for studying for my nclex.

i went to an american nursing school outside the US ( although the program is the same there are some major gaps i discovered)

and im planning to move to nyc. so

i got my ATT 3 weeks ago and i rushed to scheduling for 10th of october. im a new grad with no work experience. ive been studying for the nclex for 1month now. and of what im reading that is too little! i did not expect the exam to be this hard. i had an "ok" gpa back at university (3.4) but apparently when it comes to nclex it makes no difference!

so my question is i have purchased KAplan Qbank(did not take any courses) i finished the whole 1800 questuins . my recent scores ranged between 55% to 64%. mostly between 55% and 60%. however now that im repeating the quesitons im scoring in late 70s. my question is does that score even count ? or should purchase another set of questions ?

thank youuu

Hello. I think you are ready to go. Everyone I know was scoring in that range on the Kaplan and they all passed in 75 questions.

The NCLEX, IMO, is not hard at all. In fact, I found it so broad and general that it was "easy hard" if that makes sense.

There really is no point in studying and I think that is peoples mistake, they spend too much time studying and would have been better off going right away. The material in the Kaplan won't help you on the test really but it is good for getting in the groove of the test.

If you want to get a little bit more studying in I highly recommend a 1 month bank at U-world. It was far superior to the Kaplan in its explanations - I mean not even close, they have diagrams and teach you why the other answers were not right. Its like studying while you take a test. Do that for a bit and just take the test. Remember the basics - safety 1st, least evasive 1st, read the question and understand what they are asking; don't do the what if's and remove your mind from the context of the question. You'll be fine. Oh, one last thing, bone up on delegations to UAP and LVN's, electrolytes, Addison's, Graves, who you would see 1st.

Good luck!

thank you! your answer helped me calm down from all the anxiety... i only have 2 more weeks before my exam. i just realized that. do u think its enough to review Ubank questions ?
