Failed NCLEX. My life is on idle...sighhhh

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I've failed the NCLEX once and i'm scared and very depressed. I did everything to pass and I'm in a uncomfortable and desperate place right now. I simply want this to be over. It's like I wake up every morning to the nightmare that I have to retake that exam and I dread it. I've never posted to this site, because I've done fairly well in nursing school. I'm a B student. Although, I've never done well on HESI's.

Today I got accepted into an four year college to begin my BSN RN program in the Fall. I'm even more depressed because I've got the NCLEX on June 30 and I haven't picked up a book since I failed in March. I just can't seem to shake off the feeling that I'm gonna fail again and have to pay 300.00 to retake the exam for a third time.

I don't have a clue what's going on with me. I'm usually very optimistic, but right now I just need your help. Please tell me what to do? Should I push back taking the NCLEX? If so, how do I study for it? (It's been six months since I graduated). However, if I push it back I'd have to delay getting my BSN. Or should I take my chances and take the NCLEX on June 30...hope I pass so I can go for my BSN in the Fall? I'm out of contact with other classmates. So I have no idea who to call to form a study group. I don't know what i'm doing or what I should do. Please help. I'm afraid to fail again. Thanks.

Have you tried the hurst review or kaplan? How did you study for the exam?

I failed the nclex twice, I was able to pass nclex the 3rd time at 75 questions. I used hurst which brought everything together for me. Like you I graduated 6 months ago but I think the hurst videos brought everything back to me that I needed to know for nclex.

I understand what you are feeling, but you need to go in a private place a closet or bathroom first and pray. You can't take the test having fear especially when it get close to your date. You must build up your confidence first. Ok if June 30 your aiming at go hardcore get things out your life that is not going to benefit you for the next 3 weeks study but don't over do it. There were 2 things I knew would make me fail my lack of content and not knowing what the question is ASKING very important. What makes you a safe nurse, what will make your patient safe these are questions I would ask myself when I were studying. I used Exam cram, Saunders, NCLEX 3000, Kaplan strategies, and PDA. PDA was more RN based but I love how it makes you think. I had to make sure my content was down before answering questions.

I can't tell you how to feel cause I was there a couple of weeks ago but feeling the way you are now, you must make an decision fear or confidence what is it going to be. If you're not ready you know what you need to do, just make sure you are comfortable with your decision.

I know it's stressful pray and have faith you will Pass.:)
