Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Prior to receiving written notification of having passed NCLEX-RN, (I took boards in the state of New York) I called a the New York Board of Nursing license verification phone line. This phone line service only requires the user to punch in their social security number and if the person has a corresponding nursing license #, it will be given over the phone. If you pass NCLEX, you will have a license #. I called the service six days or so after having taken boards, and heard the good news. Four days later I received written notification of having passed boards. I do not know if other state boards of nursing provide this service, but I'm sure that they do. How else could potential employers verify that applicants were in fact licensed? Since today is a holiday, call your state board of nursing tomorrow and ask for the license verification phone number. Good luck.

Does anyone know if there is a way to find out faster if you passed boards, I am a wreck. I had 75 questions and then it shut off. I felt lost through the whole thing. nothing prepared me for what I had actually had on the exam. I have a job waiting on my results and everyone there says "oh you passed" and that unless you did really bad 75 questions is a sure thing, but I am terrified to get the results. Please, any input would be appreciated. By the way I took the boards in Ohio on june 28th

I found out I passed my NCLEX last Tuesday by going to the TN board of nursing homepage and clicking on license verification. There is a place on Tennessee's page that let's you select the state in which you wish to look up the license. I found out about 10 days after I took my test that I had passed. Then I received my letter in the mail 3-4 days later. My husband had 75 questions and he passed. He also said he felt lost during the whole test. I had 118 questions and I felt like I had failed but I didn't. Most people I have talked to say that they felt the same way. I am sure you did fine. Good luck and post back and let us know about your results. Donna
