Luthern School of Nursing

U.S.A. Missouri

I'm trying to decide which Nursing school I would like to apply to. I received a info packet from Lutheran School of Nursing. Has anyone attended there? If so how was the program it's only 22 it's diploma, it concerns me because I'm going to be a Psych-social Nurse Practitioner. I have also looked into Chamberlain but I have heard horror stories how it's so expensive, pass rate of NCLEX is Super low, and a few had to quit due to financial Aid Dept. Screwing up funds, I looked into Mineral Area College but half the people never get in too competitive, and I am also considering UMSL. I have known a few who went to school there and it seems to be a good program, STLCC wait list i hear is over 2 years. Too long to wait for me. So could I please get some input to clear the FOG on all these schools I'm considering. I would like to hear from people who have been and who are currently in one of these programs. I need to make my mind up ASAP!!! Thank You!

I went to Lutheran School of Nursing. I hated it. Ive heard stuff about chamberlain also. I chose STLCC-Meramec and I was on the waiting list for 1 year.

LSN is a very aggressive nursing program. It is an excellent program and you will learn what you need to learn with a lot of hard work and no life for yourself. You have to be determine and motivated with no outside distraction. It is very fast pace and challenging. You will be going to school 5 days a week in the beginning. If you prefer a slower pace program don't look at LSN!!!!

One of my old instructors (an R.N.) highly recommends Lutheran School of nursing. She said it is an excellent program. The only reason I did not consider it is because it so far away from my home. Good luck!
