Chamberlains.........???

U.S.A. Missouri

I just went on a tour of "Chamberlain's" college of nursing........it seemed pretty ok. I read all the bad reviews about their ASN program....what about the BSN program? Is it reallly THAT bad and NOT worth spending money to go there??? HELP! I don't want to waste anymore time figuring out where I want to go since all my pre-reqs will be done after this semester.

I did one semester of the on-campus BSN program a few years back. I didn't have any serious problems with the school (but I was definitely not impressed either), but I was forced to leave the school when I moved to California. Having said that, after doing prereqs at other colleges and ultimately finishing up my BSN at UMSL, I would definitely say that there are probably better options out there for a better education and better college experience than what Chamberlain has to offer.

St. Louis has several options for nursing school, whether you're looking at ADN or BSN. I would highly advise you to research all your options before deciding on this school, or any school for that matter. Each one will be a little different, and it's important that you find one that will be a good fit for you, especially before investing so much money into your education.

Best of luck to you, and keep us posted....

The BSN program is not that bad. Stay away from the online classes, I have a frend that took the same class as I did online and we both came away with completly different views. She hated it and I liked my class.

Any school is what you make it. There are no "easy" schools.

Thanks for your responses! Do any of you know anything about how well Chamberlain's handles places students with jobs after receiving a degree from their school?? that is another thing that was bothering me! thanks!:nurse:

Honestly, I have never asked. The job market is so good right now it doesn't look like we are going to have to worry about finding jobs. After you graduate you should be able to walk into an hospital and get a job.

I graduated from Deaconess online in 2005 (Chamberlain, now). I had a wonderful education. You get out of it what you put into it. The instructors and support are great. I don't know why you're worried about getting placed in a job - you'll be an RN!!

I am going to start the online BSN program in October 2006. I hope I can bother you at times for a little help/support. I am really worried about not making the cut online.
