Has anyone heard when the acceptance letters are going out for the Fall 2011 ADN program at Holmes Community College - Ridgeland?

I am wondering the same thing!!! This wait is killing me. And I got my accecptance letter from Hinds today and they have a required orentation next Thursday. If you don't show up, you give up your spot. I guess I will go, in case I don't get into Holmes. Have you heard anything about letters from Holmes? Did you apply for Ridgeland or Grenada?

I applied for the Ridgeland campus. Grenada is a little too far for me to travel.

Like you, I received my acceptance letter from Hinds for the Rankin campus. I'll definitely be at the orientation next week just in case Holmes falls through.

I don't understand why Holmes is later sending out letters. Hinds has a later cut off for accepting applications and they get their letters out sooner.

I know what you mean. The letters are taking forever, and from what I hear, they aren't even taking in account this semesters' grades. It's my understanding that when your application goes in, only the current greades, scores, etc. are used when calculating scores. Oh well...I guess we just wait wait wait...

I still have ALL of my lettersof rejection from Holmes from years before. The dates that the letters went out ranged from april 26-may 30 according to my old letter dates. My letter of rejection last year from ridgeland said april 26. I have been applying and applying for their RN program and I actually got my associate of arts degree there in 2008. I believe this year will be the year for ME and both you to be accepted and I am going to say a prayer for all of us. I really want this bad and it would be so convenient to only have to drive from madison to ridgeland!

Oh I certainly hope so "Healthy Future"! I am a nervous wreck about it. I keep hearing all sorts of rumors. A group other students, including myself, have spoken about it in depth. Here are just a few "rumors" we've heard: 1) ACT scores are most important 2) GPA is most important 3) being a non-traditional or older student helps 4) it's all political at Holmes 4) that several people have had letters of recommendation sent in to Grenada! (even though there is NOWHERE listed that we can or are supposed to do this) 5) that they like to take male students when at all possible 6) that they always like to take current students at Holmes first 7) that they call your professors to ask their opinions 8) that it helps to have a degree already and 9) that letters have already gone out!!!! Good grief! Who knows WHAT is the truth! The only thing I know for sure is that I personally called Grenada yesterday and they told me that NO letters had been mailed and that they hoped to have them out at the end of this month. I know people that have an 18 ACT that have applied, a 29 that have applied, 2.4 GPA's and 4.0 GPA's...guys and girls...some with bachelors degrees and some with almost no college courses. So, who knows what is going to give any of us an advantage over others. All I know is that I've had a stomach ache for 4 months! hahah! I also live in Madison and do NOT want to drive to the Nursing Allied Heath center at Hinds. Have you re-taken your ACT or improved your GPA? I wish you luck this time!!! :)

Hey HealthyFuture,

Thanks for your response and your prayer. :)

What were the years and the dates for those years...if you don't mind me asking?

@mommyof2littleboys

I feel your pain. I have been wanting to call Grenada but have been trying to be patient.

It's wild to me that Holmes has an earlier application deadline but is the very last school to let applicants know if we got in. Uggg...UMC, MC and Hinds have all sent their letters.

Did you apply at UMC and MC, too? I know you did for Hinds (I'll see you tomorrow maybe at orientation but won't know who you are).

This letter is all I seem to think about. I can't even concentrate at work any longer.

I didn't apply to UMC or MC. I received my degree in 1998 and in order to be accecpted at either of those 2 you're sciences can't be more than 10 years old. Soooo, I'm trying to avoid retaking A&P I, Bio, Chem, etc...Who knows. Part of me just thinks if I don't get into Holmes, I should go ahead and retake them and apply to MC and UMC next year....skipping Hinds alltogether. I will be at the Nursing allied health center tomorrow. Will you be at Rankin campus or are both campuses at NAHC tomorrow?

At NAHC. Orientation for both campuses is at NAHC.

I'm really hoping for that Holmes acceptance letter though. That's where I've been doing all of my pre-requisite work.

When you called Grenada, did you check the validity of those rumors?
