Has anyone made the change from CCU to an ICU? The CCU has given me wonderful experience but is an extremely hostile environment. I started CCU as a new grad and went through the orientation and just hate going to work I love my patients but despise the work ethic of the other staff members. Any advice on things I should focus on to make the change?
thanks

What do you do in your CCU? In my hospital, the CCU is an ICU, just with a specialty in coronary events. S/p MI's, intervention, cardiogenic shock, etc. How would your patient population change?

I think the issue is that her coworkers are toxic. She enjoys her patients.
As a recent refugee from a toxic environment, I support your finding a new unit. It's not worth the sleepless nights, damage to your self-esteem, and wear and tear on your stomach lining to put up with these people.
Good luck!
