CCRN Self-Assessment Test?

Specialties MICU

Published

Hello everyone,

I am scheduled to take my CCRN next week and have been studying several of the popular books (Pass CCRN, etc.).

I took the AACN CCRN self assessment today and got a 50 out of 60, which makes me feel pretty good. But I was wondering if the self-assessment was an accurate reflection of the actual exam, or if it was a valid tool to predict your success on the test?

Thanks!

I passed both with about the same percentage. I think the CCRN was slightly harder than the pre-test, but it sounds like you know your stuff.

Good Luck!

It was way easier than I expected. I watched the Laura Gasperis Vonfrolio DVDs. There were tons of swan-ganz questions that gave art line pressures, wedge pressures, CVP, and you had to know what was going on based on them. Other than that, I was surprised how much was pretty obvious to anyone with any experience at all.

yeah I agree, just really know your hemodynamics, if you know them like the back of your hand you should be good. But the rest was all pretty obvious stuff. What got me and made me unsure about the exam was I think a lot of the the "pretend" questions were worded weird or really off the wall and I had a hard time with some of them figuring out what they were asking, but Im pretty sure they were just "test" questions for future exams because I scored 89%

I don't remember my percentage but you only had to get 89 out of 150 questions right to pass because of the survey questions.
