my brother and aunt graduated in that class as well. My brother is at st. johns and my aunt is at harper hospital. Granted she was already a CNA their and was able to get in through her boss. MY brother aplied for and externship and got a call a month later, within 6 months now he is full and started out at 25.50 + 2.00 shift differentials. MY adivice is before graduation apply for as many jobs within hospitals or nursing homes as you can, doesnt matter CNA, valet, transporter, kitchen etc.. anywhere you can network your way. Because hospitals love to hire within. hope this helps good luck!

On a lighter note!:) I am so nervous to receive my letter. I called the dept and asked if the letters would be emailed or mailed they said they would be emailed. However, I heard they were supposed to be emailed last semester and ended up being mailed, so who knows. All I know is I am going to be stalking my mail man, my wcccd email, and this forum for the rest of the month. Good luck to everyone who applied and please keep us posted on any new info you all may hear good or bad and I will do the same.
Thanks for shedding some light on this thread and for the advice Darien. I am glad to hear your brother and aunt are doing well. Thank you that was very helpful advice!

Wow darien!!!! That is really really really great and very surprising. Unfortunately everyone I know were not as fortunate. It has been a couple of years since we graduated and 3 of my friends are waitresses now. One of my friends just got a job at the casino. One of my friends is a realtor. I am currently working in car sales.

Hospitals and nursing homes now want experienced nurses. It is difficult to get experience if they don't want to hire new nurses. A few people did not pass the nclex.
