I want to becomea LPN and I want to know what are the best schools to go to. I live in Eastpointe Michigan

I moved your post from the online nursing forum to the Michigan forum. For initial licensure you won't find an online program - you'll have to do clinicals. You should check with your state board of nursing for approved LPN programs. Good luck!

It depends on how you want to go about becoming an LPN and if you want to further your education later on.

If you want to be an LPN with the intention of staying an LPN, you can attend a career school like Everest (Southfield), DBI(Downriver), Dorsey (Madison Hgts.), etc... FYI: My sister did try to attend Everest and they now want you to have had some healthcare experience to know what you are getting yourself into...they wanted her to become a PCT first.

If you plan on going further in the nursing field (RN, BSN, NP), I would suggest going to a college...yes there are going to be waiting list but as soon as you finish your prereqs (which shouldn't be longer than one-two years) you can be placed on that list, while working as something else in the healthcare field. Yes it is discouraging, but there are pros and cons to both ways.

Check michigan.gov for the list of nursing schools approved by the nursing board. Hope that helps some.
