Immunization Shots Required for WCCCD Nursing Program

  1. 0 Hey, I am a pre nursing student and I just finished my first semester. I got all As and one B (In bio) *rolls eyes* Anyway, I was wondering what kind of immunization shots do they require at WCCCD for the nursing program? Any respectful answer is highly appreciated. ^_^

I am not sure about WCCCD, but I believe most schools have similar requirements. Hep B - some offices follow the 6 months injection series and others follow the 4 month series, Flu vaccine, tetanus within the past 10 years, titers for MMR and varicella, along with at least 2 TB tests in the past year or a 2 step test or chest x-ray.

I don't even know what/where WCCCD is, let alone what the require. What was required (approx 5 years ago) for my school was based on the institutions at which we did clinicals. Titers on all childhood immunizations (MMR, diphtheria, pertussis, Hep B) and required to get a booster if titers were too low. Not sure if tetanus was required or not. Must have 2 step Mantoux recently. Flu vaccine was not required, but this may have changed since based on hospitals' policies. The titers/vaccines and the Mantoux were nonnegotiable. The clinical facilities required it--basically the school had no say in the matter.

Since it appears you are referring to Wayne County Community College, moved to MI Nursing Program

WCCCD= Wayne County Community College District... And I'm going to the campus in Taylor. When I get to the part where I am eligible for the program, I'll have to relocate to the Northwest campus.
