Hello does anybody know if it is a very hard program to get into? I am planning on applying in May and I currently have a 3.75gpa but I should be higher after this semester is over. Also I know that Eastern does give points for taking courses at Eastern. I am a transfer student so some of my course were taken at my other college. Will that really lesson my changes a whole lot of getting in?

Tommy,

Even though you didn't take your classses at emu I still think you have a good chance at getting in because of your gpa. I'm very anxious to find out too.

Well thanks I hope. If I hear anything I'll let you know. I did hear that we should know aroung the middle of the month. If you hear anything let me know! Maybe we'll be classmates come this Fall!

Okay and you do the same. Yes hopefully we do become classmates this up coming fall. :)

Hi! My friend who is in the program now, found out at the end of June last year and the people who got accepted received letters and the people who were alternates didn't get anything in the mail till a couple of weeks later.

I applied to the second degree program starting in fall 2010 with a 4.0 gpa, 14 credit hours of prereq. , full points from ATI TEAS, and no healthcare experience. I saw in one thread that someone reported that there were 300+ applications for the 32 positions. I am worried. :redbeathe

Well I guess we"ll find out at the end of this month!! fingers crossed!! haha

300 applicants is a lot! I know last year they only had 65 applicants for the accelerated program which was what someone at EMU said. That was an unusual year, they normally have more applicants. It will be interesting to see what happens!

Hello Everyone,

I just called EMU's nursing and I was told that we should be recieving our letters by the middle of next week. Good luck to all. =)

:) I got my letter in today's mail.

"Congratulations on your conditional admission, contingent upon the results of your criminal background check, to the BSN program, Second Degree Option, in the School of Nursing at Eastern Michigan University."

I"m praying for similar news for you also.

Jeff

Hello, I applied to the traditional and accelerated programs at EMU for nursing this year. I got two rejection letters today. I had a 4.0, got all the points on the TEAS that I needed, and had some volunteer experience at Hospice. I am so bummed...

I received my conditional acceptance letter in the mail last Friday. I have around a 3.5 prerequisite gpa. My TEAS score was 96 percent overall and I have 4 years of hospital experience. I only had 3 credit hours of prereq coursework taken at EMU. I hope this helps you gauge the point system better. Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations on those that got accepted to the program! I also applied to both the accelerated and the traditional program and I haven't received anything yet in the mail. Maybe today I will.
