   We use 18's here. Will use a 20 if the pt's veins aren't so great. If they end up needing surgery with the possibility of blood products anesthesia can start a new site.!

    We don't do baths until baby is at least 3 hours old with a stable temp. We also do it at the bedside in the warmer and encourage Mom/Dad participation.

    We are a small hospital and are almost done with our OB renovation. We have placed whirlpool bathtubs in every suite and our patients are loving them, both antepartum and postpartum. They are sanitized by houskeeping post discharge.

    Might be a good idea to look into a nursing program where you are an LPN after the first year and bridge over to RN the second year (ADN). Might be a waiting list but you can get some of the classes out of the way.
