  1. Which schools are "hard" to get into

That's the norm for most schools, at least 8 applicants for each seat. There are some schools that are "easier" to get into. But there may be a reason for that. Instead of applying to all of them, I'd call the program itself or the admissions offi...
  2. CRNA Health Problems

Yeah, they were all "British" studies, and yeah, a lot of them involved unscavenged dental offices, but still the rate of birth defects was significant. And yes, it might have been associated with some of those "older" agents we used to use besides ...
  3. SRNA wife about to loose it......

Will your children be permanently damaged if they don't play T-ball for a year? How about if you bought a little plastic pool for the backyard? Compare their development if you go nuts. Your husband may be feeling like crap because he's not current...
  4. manual of surgical procedures

You'll see some cases with a description of "5-10mcg/kg" dose of Fentanyl. It was written like that to show a total possible dose requirement. Also many cases are done in many different formats (Carotids), so don't think Jaffe is "the only way". ...
  5. ADN or BSN

By going ADN, you can work as an RN in an ICU setting, thus meeting that requirement while you finish your BSN (on-line or as a "non-traditional" student). If time is a factor and you can make the grades while you work, go for it. You can still get...

  7. Hospital Primarily Using MDA's Instead of CRNA's?

This sometimes depends on patient payer mix. If there's any "industry" nearby, and / or most people have private insurance, then who'll see Physician Anesthesiologists doing cases. If it's all medicare/caid and self-pay (no insurance) you'll find m...
  8. Anybody seen them? I can't even find an issue in the backcountry stores. Thank you.
  9. CRNAs teach AAs in clinical? Need an OR insider

AA's (or AA-C) are Anesthesia Assistants. I won't go into a long discussion about the politics, but there in some animosity between AAs and CRNAs. So much so that I had heard that CRNAs weren't allowed to teach AA students in Emory. Maybe not an "...
  10. Do CRNAs teach AAs in Clinical (at Emory)?

Whoa! I'm pretty sure that CRNA students are not allowed to work with AAs, especially here in GA. Some students from MCG said that last year. Has to do with the Worthy case. I'd ask the AANA about that before letting SRNAs be staffed by AAs.
  11. I'm trying to recruit a new CRNA grad to come to our rural facility. They've gotten an offer from Emory in Atlanta, and are excited about the ability to "teach students" there. But I've heard that CRNAs are not "allowed" to teach the AA students. ...

  15. DOCTORATE for CRNA's?

Okay, hypothetical situation: Person "J" wants to be a CRNA. They learn about our profession in high school, and they like the thought of actually DOING anesthesia (you know, personally administering the anesthetic...) They know they have to have a ...
