  1. I'm going to nursing school-That's nice, DO YOUR JOB

That seemed slightly unnecessary and uncalled for... I've seen nurses who don't do much of anything too!
  2. Adrenaline? How to keep it in check?

I just started school a few months ago but in my experience with school, CNA work and having events like this happen to me, I don't think it's really possible to control adrenaline. It's a natural occuring thing which we have no control over! (Learne...
  3. Finished my First Term!

Thank you for the congrats everyone! :-) I spend around 2 hours a day studying and doing homework. It looks like I will most likely be increasing that time with my next classes tho, it looks like a lot of projects and a lot of information on the test...
  4. Finished my First Term!

My program is 14 months so just a little over three semesters. We have 2 classes a "term" (5 weeks) and around 4 terms a semester. Thats how all the nursing programs (LPN and RN) arrange their classes in my area.
  5. Finished my First Term!

I finished my first term (5 weeks) of the PN program with a 4.0!! I am loving school and so happy to be there! It is a lot of work and stress but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Just had to share my happy news :redbeathe:up:
  6. What if I pretend not to be an LPN to get into school?

I don't think it should matter that your an LPN. At the Community College near me which is based on "points" (grades, work experience ect.) you actually get more points to help you get into the program because your an LPN. Good Luck!

  8. Medicine or Nursing?

Have you considered becoming a nurse practitioner? You could achieve most the things you listed under becoming a doctor, but still work within the nursing module fulfilling your original dream career? I started out wanting to go to Medical School but...

Thanks for the information everyone! I just got my acceptance letter yesterday, and will be getting a packet with all the information for the program in it this week so if I have any more questions after that I will let you know! Thanks again!
  10. Got the call!!!

Congratulations!! I just got my acceptance letter yesterday and it was an amazing feeling! I do not have any children but I have to say that I admire you for going to nursing school! This will be the best thing you could do for your family! Good Luck...
  11. ECPI-Greenville, SC

I agree that it is pricey, but the Community College here and in the surrounding area all stopped their LPN programs, so this is the only one with in an 1 1/2 hours of me! And I agree with the above poster, I need my LPN asap, not in 3 or 4 years. I ...
  12. Student Liability Insurance

Hi! I have recently applied to a LPN program where I live (I am sooooo excited!) and have read a lot of post on here where people suggest you have your own liability insurance. If I am accepted I was wondering where I could purchase this and what is ...

  14. Has anyone received their license after submitting declaratory for bipolar?

I interviewed a psycologist for a paper in high school and she told me that MANY people from the medical community such as nurses, therapists even MDs have different mental illnesses (bi-polar, OCD, depression ect) and as long as they are well manage...
