  1. so frustrated about setting up NP clinical

I was listening to a podcast (the Nurse Practitioner Money Show) and Chris had a great idea. If you use Typhon (or other charting programs), there is an area where you can look at ALL the providers who have been approved for precepting (it may even ...
  2. CNRN Exam 2012

My work is offering the Hemispheres program to sharpen our neuro skills. Any feedback from anyone on whether studying Hemispheres would be beneficial to someone who is considering taking the CNRN exam? Thanks!
  3. TEAS Scores???

If your mean program was 72.6, I believe that's the average of people you're competing against directly to get into the program you are testing for so it sounds like you did pretty good. I may be off on this but that's my interpretation. Good luck.
  4. More men pleeeaaaasse get into nursing!!!

Thank you for the encouragement. I start my program in the fall and I'm looking forward to being a male nurse.
  5. Exercise and Stress

Over the last few years, exercise, 5-days a week has been one of the major changes in my life. I found a remarkable transformation. As I developed this habit, the drive to accomplish things has been strengthened. I feel better, look better and act...
  6. Just Plain Nasty Mean. What Would You Do?

I often feel sorry for people like this and, I too wonder about how miserable their lives must be. I know it must be difficult but I try to remember that I have a choice of how other people's words, actions and attitudes affect me. I think keeping ...
  7. Goodness, I'm glad to see there is plenty of emotion on this subject. I think that shows genuine concern for patients. Yes, I'm glad we are in agreement. As I said in my post, improvements are needed in our current system and it has areas that ar...
  8. I too refuse to pad Moore's socialist agendized wallet. A single-payer system like Canada, France, etc. is not "Guaranteed healthcare for all!" Hopefully, many of you've heard the news this week about about how broken and pathetic those country's s...
  9. What did u buy your first year of nursing?

If you don't want to hear advice, go on to the next posting. I think you should wait at least a year before you make any major purchases (car, home, boat, etc.). You'll have plenty of time for that in the future after you take care of any debt you m...
  10. Government loan repayment hospitals

The HRSA route seems like pretty slim pickens'. I've heard of hospitals who will help pay back student loans on hire. I don't know if there's a "list" of these but maybe we all can contribute and generate some info.
  11. Need Advice. I'm afraid my nursing career is over.

Emma , I can sense your anguish and I feel for you. I hope you are able to find employment but I sense it may mean paying a few more dues and toughing it out. It sounds like you have been through plenty already and I'm glad you still have a passion...
  12. Beginner PDA

I have the Palm Tungsten E2. I found the diagnosaurus but am wondering about other software (freeware preferred). I think it would also be helpful to know which operating system is more prevalant in the medical field, Palm or Windows?
  13. What you think about Male Nurses?

What is the big deal about male nurses? The question is asked as if there is a stigma attached to that title. I hope to be a male nurse sometime in 2009 and hope I can provide treatment with care and comfort for my patients. I'll bet most "Female...
  14. I believe the computer test adjusts as you take the test so don't plan on only having a few questions in certain areas. I found that if you can do the study guide questions, you should be okay. But, if you've looked at the study guide and the math ...
  15. Nursing Glossary??

I'm new to AllNurses and so excited! I start nursing school in the fall. As I read through many posts, I sometimes get lost in the abbreviations and initials. Is there a glossary that may be helpful? Looking forward to hearing from you.
