  3. SUNY Downstate's Accelerated Nursing Program

I spoke to someone at the school and they said it was in Lecture Hall 6. I assume that's in the main school building? I'm really surprised we haven't gotten any additional info on this. Can't wait to meet everyone tomorrow! Kristen
  4. SUNY Downstate's Accelerated Nursing Program

Hi jujufireal! I am starting this summer as well and am starting to feel pretty nervous and excited. I have no idea what this test is going to be like. It's called a "placement test" so maybe they are just trying to get a basic idea as to where we ...
  5. Got Accepted To A College

Hunter has a very competitive Nursing school and it has a great reputation. I would go there if you have the chance. As Chuck said, the community college programs are extremely competitive as well. Good luck!

  11. I would recommend St. Lukes Roosevelt's birthing center in NYC. It has a much more "homey" cozy, relaxing vibe but it's located withing a hospital just in case you have a problem. You can also choose between a Midwife or a Doctor which is a nice ch...
  12. Onlind distance midwifery programs

Stonybrook University also has an online program, although I've heard good things about Frontier.
  13. Bad weight gain durring pregnancy

Don't quote me on this but I think if you have gestational diabetes, which may be caused by too much extra weight, your baby has a higher chance of developing diabetes and/or having problems with obesity herself.
  14. Differences in CNM schools?

Anyone know anything about SUNY Downstate's Midwifery program? It's in Brooklyn, NY.
  15. NYU or Stony Brook's Accelerated Program?

Go to Stonybrook. Everyone I have spoken to says that the most important this is to become an RN and it doesn't really matter where to you go to get it. The cost difference between the two schools is huge, there is no reason why you should have to p...
