    I became an RN in December of 2010, and immediately found a med surg position. I was 49 yrs old when I graduated, and have never had any age issues. Nursing is a great blend of old and young, experienced and newbies.

    At my hospital, your scope of practice is determined by your job title. You may only perform tasks your job allows, no matter what training you are going through, or degrees or certificates you may posess.

    I took the nclex Monday 1-31 at 0800. I did the trick Tuesday morning, and got the good popup. Wednesday morning I had a license number and active status on the state licensing agency website!

    Which part was unfair?? you made errors, you lied about them, and then you blamed everyone else for them. The school is doing the responsible thing. A good gpa is NOT what makes a great nurse.

    it depends on your gpa and that of others who apply. they go by points from your pre requisite classes, A = 30 B = 20 C = 10 plus your TEAS test score. typically, over 180 points will get you in.

    I agree with the Hogan reviews and rationales, plus I use Med surg success ( Colgrove and Callicoatt) now, in med surg. good luck = )

    You need to think about assessing the patient, then diagnosing the problems. Go thru the nursing process and Maslow and you should have plenty of things to work with.
