So our usually calm, quiet, and sedate M/S unit is a good place to work. Only real issues tend to be over-narcotic or drug reaction or a fall. Today: Afib RVR/Febrile pre-op/new onset AMS; bedside thoracentesis; accidental chest tube removal; air embolism; and a crumping as we speak....5 different patients all within 45 minutes. wow. I am still trying to debrief. everyone made it though. Still not quite sure how....but we did it! Hooray for med-surg!

Sounds like a typical day for me...except I work on SNF unit...with 8-9 patients.

So you have a patient actively "crumping" and you're on allnurses?!?! Hope your shift gets better!

Does SNF stand for something other than skilled nursing facility? Or is that where you mean?

What kind of SNF only gives you 8-9 patients?! Sign me up! I have at least 18!
That's what I'm saying! I've always had at least 20... That's why I'm wondering if SNF stood for something other than skilled nursing facility...
