Female FOLEY

Please help! I completely stink at female foleys. I work in the OR, and before that, I didn't get a chance to do them a whole lot. I guess I have an advantage, because the pt is not moving, but I cant find a urethra to save my life and it is so embarrassing!! Please give any tips or tricks or just plain blueprints if you can....thanks

I would NOT advise inserting ones' finger into the lady parts.

That is totally inappropriate.

I'm no expert but I haven't missed yet. I have the patient lie flat, bend their knees and then spread them apart, I put the flashlight on the bed in between aiming at my target and with my non-dominant hand spread the labia (may take a couple times) until I can visualize the meatus and then swab make sure I see the wink and in it goes...
