by mdsnurse12 Feb 26, '12Hey there,
I accepted a MDS Coordinator position at a LTC facility in Texas in December 2011... I'm loving my job so far! I was brand-new LVN working as a staff nurse in LTC when I was offered this position, so I jumped at the opportunity. I'm getting paid $20/hrly... I'm not complaining, I'm grateful for the job opportunity and it IS more than I was getting paid as a staff nurse... but I have no idea what is fair pay in this field... just want to know for curiosity's sake.

- Feb 26, '12 by Bella'sMyBabyMDS pay varies by experience, demand, location and corporation.
I'm in Indiana and have heard ranges of $23 to $31 per hour.
I know someone who did interim MDS work making $50 per hour plus all expenses.
I recently heard that a recruiter was offering $67 per hour but I have a hard time believing that one.
I think some corporations pay more than others.
Hope this helps, I'm interested in knowing the "going rate" as well!

- Mar 27, '12 by CrissyRNI live in WV and I was brand new to MDS when I took my position. I started off at $22 an hour and after 7 months am up to $25 an hour. I dont know if it is fair pay or not, Im happy right now and understand that it will only get better over time and the more I learn the more I can make.mdsnurse12 likes this.
- Jul 6, '12 by mdsnurse12Im only an LVN (I think its LPN over there), so I'm sure I could easily make more by just having an RN. Sounds like you are doing good for yourself
Have you been to Cat Selmen's care plan seminar yet or plans to attend?
