Hi Everyone!

Is anyone else going into the 2011-2012 LPN program at Upper Cape Tech?? I just recieved my acceptence today!:yeah: Also...does anyone have any advice for someone entering an LPN program?(Besides lots of studying) Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ahhh I am waiting to hear from UCT.. and it is driving me nuts... :) When did you girls take the acceptance test?? I went in February and had my interview in March and was told I would hear either way by April 15th.. here we are the 13th and I haven't heard a word.. I am freaking.. the waiting is sooo hard. I am curious as to when you girls took the test and had your interview? Thanks for any information. Also when you got your acceptance information did it have the tuition and financial aid information with it? Thanks again for any information.

Christine

Hi Christine! I took the test in November & had my interview in December...they sent me a large envelope that has all the info in it (financial aid/tuition/orientation) I hope you hear something soon! Have you applied anywhere else?

Thank you so much for responding and for the information :) I am curious when you got y

our acceptance letter? I am patiently, well trying for the patiently, waiting to hear something! And praying it will be possitive :) which campus did you get accepted to? I am very happy for you and wish you all the luck!

Sorry I see now you got the letter March 29th :)

I am so excited! Just had to say... I applied a year earlier than I should have just because I figured it couldn't hurt... never thought I'd be a Nursing student in 2011!!! Can't wait to meet you ladies! Ps- do you know if they knock some $ off tuition if you already took A&P?

I hope so! I've already taken A&P I & II and I'm taking Nutrition now....hopefully that will lighten the financial load, but they might still charge the $$ and we wouldn't ave to re-take those classes. Either way, I'm just so excited to start!

As someone who is in the bourne campus now I can give you 2 things that would have helped me. 1st unless you love to do laundary daily then order 3 uniforms and 2nd we used none of the workbooks so if you are not going to do extra work on your own don't buy them.

thanks ambd... lay it on us! what else you got that might help?

Yeah I did finally hear from UCT and I was accepted to the Harwich campus - I am on a "list" to get into Bourne if someone doesn't send in there deposit or decides to go somewhere else - crossing my fingers for that! The Harwich orientation is the 6th of June. I have a question about financial aid though it is really confusing me - I went to the FAFSA website a long time ago and filled that out, then when I got my packet from UCT I called the financial person, as it said in the package to do if you have questions, so I asked her what I o now to find out how much financial aid I will receive and she told me to go to http://www.studentloans.gov and I did that az well, but I still don't get how you actually apply for the financial aid and find out how much you will actually get! I really need to find out sooner versus later so I can figure out how much will actually be coming out of pocket - is anyone else having these issues or do you guys understand how this all works??????

Rose was not very helpful for me either. after you filled out your fafsa, did they give you a EFC? They can tell you approx how much aid you'll receive from that number. also, they told me that you only report to harwich twice a week, and the rest are clinicals all around the cape.... i got bourne so i will only be in bourne twice a week, so they say...

ps- had my first day of clinicals for my CNA course... I am SO glad I took this course to get comfortable with patient care. If you haven't already, I recommend you do :)

I was just on the faces website today tryig to figure more out and understand more - it does say an EFC number but it is just a 5 digit random number - there is a number you can call though so I think tomorrow I will call them and see if I can find out more information - I just hate to wait and wait just to find out that I am not getting enough financial aid - I was happy to see that in the estimated cost to go to UCT that they include everything not just tuition so the estimated costs will be over $23,000 for the 10months that might help me get more towards the tuition part --- it is a bit overwhelming right now with so much unknown!
