Has anyone else applied to the UMass GEP program? Sounds like they are scheduling interviews next month.

I applied! I received an email from them this Saturday (02/1) stating that they received my complete application, and to expect a phone call for interviews (if deemed an eligible candidate) during the month of February. Decisions will be made in March.

I applied to the UMass Worcester GEP program for FNP in December...on 2/1 I got the same email you guys are talking about... and then an interview invite on 2/4! I have the actual interview coming up--- and I'm really nervous... I've been looking for information on what their interviews are like, but I haven't really found anything. If any current students have some tips, I'd love to hear them! Good luck to everyone!!

I got an interview invite on Friday! My interview will be 2/20. I'm sure it'll be pretty standard-- why umass, what will help you from your previous experience, etc. When I was looking around for info I couldnt find out how many they interview and how many they end up accepting. When I googled around for it, looked like the acceptance rates for people who interviewed looked pretty good. Anyone have any info on this program or interview tips?

I also received an invitation for an interview on Tuesday 02/04. They included a list of questions that they will likely ask during the interview to prepare us, which I thought was nice.

What concentration did you guys apply to?

I had my interview last Friday and my concentration is acute adult/gerontology NP. It's pretty straightforward interview! Just make sure you have answers for the questions they sent in the email and have ample time to find your way around the place. The graduate school of nursing office is in one of the medical school buildings, which is connected to the hospital. Have lots of questions prepared to ask as they are eager to answer them!

Also, their entire class size of all specialties is 32 people. They're going to have an admission committee meeting on Feb 27th to discuss all the candidates and get back to applicants hopefully by that Monday! If you have anymore questions, let me know!

Thanks for the info. Yeah I think the list of questions is helpful. The office staff said they had a large amount of candidates for the FNP specialty but haven't heard for AG Primary care and AG Acute. I'm looking forward to seeing the facilities and meeting students in the GEP program now. I'm from out of state so it should be fun to see the area.

Had my interview today- there were no "surprise" questions that were not on the list they emailed us, and the faculty member I met with was very kind and helpful. They said there were >100 applicants for family, with 12 spots available; and maybe 1/4 of that for the other specialties with 10 spots to fill each, making 32 accepted students total. I LOVED the campus, it's definitely my first choice, so we'll see! 2/27 can't come soon enough!

I had my interview for Adult-Gerontology last wk. Interview was very standard and the facilities looked amazing. Hopefully we start hearing soon!
