Regis College RN-BS-MSN Program

U.S.A. Massachusetts

I'm considering the Regis College RN-BS-MS program after I get my ASN next semester. Is there anyone who is enrolled in the Regis RN-BS-MSN program that can give me some information on this program? Is there anyone who dropped out of the Regis RN-BS-MSN program that can give me information on their experience in this program? I've heard that they've experienced problems with their undergrad BSN program in the past with an unusual amount of students dropping/flunking out but haven't heard anything about their RN-BS-MSN program. Anyone know of what their retention rate in this program is?

That's great! I have looked at so many schools and very few have any weekend/night class options.

I have applied and am in the process of scheduling an interview.

One other question, did you have to take your GREs prior to admission? I am scheduled to take them next week but am just curious because the website was a bit unclear about it.

Thanks!!

Yes. Unless it's changed this year the GRE is required. They strongly recommend that you break 1000 as a score to qualify, but as long as you break that minimum you're golden as far as GRE scores go. Goodluck with the GREs and admission! I'm always happy to answer any questions.

The GRE format has changed. The scale is now 130-170 for both quantitative and verbal, and keep in mind that the entire application is measured not one component, so if your GRE scores are not great, focus on other portions of the application.

Jennifer0512, so you are almost finished? I was accepted for the Fall and am planning (if the future exists) to matriculate this Fall.

Thanks guys! Admissions got back to me and the GREs are required. I am scheduled to take them 2/27 and have my phone interview on 3/2 with Jenene. :) Wish me luck, I will be cramming these next 10 days studying for the GREs, lol.

RoImDreaming--I totally forgot about the change of GRE format (I was one of the last to take the old system). Thanks for reminding me!

And yes I'm in my last semester of the MSN section! I'm very excited to be graduating :) Good luck with your journey just beginning!

jrwinney-Good luck on your phone interview and GREs. The phone interview is very relaxed--everyone in admissions is very nice :)

Hello everyone, I'm going to be applying to their RN-BSN-MSN program. I've already met with someone at the school and I've already completed all of my pre-reqs and 2 of the bridge classes. For those who are at Regis and have already commented here...are there any classes that you found to be very difficult or any instructor that was very difficult? I know it won't be a walk in the parK, I'm planning on getting my BSN and then continuing the PNP route. Can anyone give me a heads up?

In the BSN portion I would say that Medical/Surgical (aka Med-Surg) and Complex Care were the most difficult for me. There's just SO MUCH to know, so there is a lot of info on the exams that you need to know and it's a lot of work so you're exhausted of course at the same time which just heightens the stress. Not so much difficult profs--some are maybe "nicer" than others, but really the difficulty aspect is just nursing school in general and all the work that is required, at Regis or anywhere.

As far as the MSN portion (and lucky for you I can speak to the PNP aspect) I haven't found it too difficult. There is still a lot of information to know, but you have such a solid knowledge base between the 2 years you've already done as the RN/BSN portion and your clinicals that the information seems to come much more naturally and it's focusing on stuff that you really care about since this is the portion of the program that you've been waiting for if you want to ultimately be an NP.

Hope that helps!

Thank you Jennifer0512, you've succeded in making me much more excited about the program. I'm in the process of finishing up my application now and I'm planning on taking a couple of classes there this summer (patho and research based practice) to give me a heads up. I'll be working part-time as an RN while I'm at school and figure a couple of classes at a time are doable. That's one thing I love the most about the program...The flexibility which gives me the opportunity to pay-as-i-go so that I don't have to take out massive loans. I'm single and still living at home, have little overhead costs so this is the time to get it done.

Phew - took the GREs this morning and got a 158 verbal/156 quant. From what I have seen, that equates to approximately a 1300 with the old scoring! YAY!! :) And that is without the essays. Now I just have my interview and will wait with fingers crossed.

Have any of you done the online version? i am looking into it, but not sure if the same problems are going to exist, especially if i am in another state. Is it worth it to try this online? or just do like a phenix university rout

I think you are thinking of Regis University - this thread is for Regis College in the Boston, MA area.

Hello everyone, I'm in the BSN/MSN program at Regis College. It may be a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone had the course schedule for the 2nd semester of the 1st year GM students. I just started this September, everything is great. I wanted to check the schedule out plan out next semester if anyone had a copy of it. Thanks!
