CCBC Nursing Fall 2012 - Waiting For Acceptance Letter

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

Hi everyone. Just figured I would start a new thread to keep each other company while we wait patiently for our letters to come. I just applied for CCBC Essex Nursing Program starting Fall 2012. Does anyone have any experience of how exactly your are notified? I know they say tat you will get a letter and I also know that you can continue to check your Simon account af if you get accepted, there will be a $200 seat fee in there. Are there any other ways of knowing?

That doesn't surprise me. When I applied last spring, I found out I was rejected on the night of my Microbiology lab practical. So that's an accurate indication of what they mean by "mid-May."

Yeah but now that you're done everything you should get in :)... I'm still waiting on that post card saying they have it... The one thing thats really bothering me is how stupid I was not to turn in my hospital experience that I've been working in the OR for almost the past 2 years -_- I was so rushed as I applied on the last day!

Experience isn't considered which aggravates me because I've been working in the field for 5+ years. You would think they'd want someone with health care experience because they would obviously be easier to teach in my opinion. We're already half way there! :-)

Coppin and I think HCCC take in to consideration your work experience

So does UMB (that's where I REALLY want to go, and am anxiously awaiting a response). They put a great deal of emphasis on healthcare experience. You would think that CCBC would want someone with prior health experience, but I guess it's easier to eliminate applicants if the criteria is based mainly on GPA, but bad for the rest of us!!

I've learned the hard way not to put all of my eggs in one basket when it comes to CCBC and their nursing program. Unfortunately, I chose to not believe the majority of horror stories about people who applied three, four, five or more times and still didn't get accepted :banghead:

Sorry that was so negative and I'm not trying to be. I just wish that I had been more realistic from the start of this process and maybe I wouldn't have been so devastated when I didn't get in.

But I hope everyone here gets accepted. So much hard work goes into just getting to this very point:) Best of luck!

i really don't have the time to devote to a bsn program nor the money.... im honestly kind of glad that it doesn't really count as far as experience since i didnt turn in my patient contact hours (and i have 2 years of direct pt. contact)

I'm new to this site! I applied for the nursing program at CCCC for the fall 2012 semester. I heard there's over 300 applicants for 60 slots. Waiting patiently for my acceptance/rejection letter since January! This wait is killing me!

I heard there's over 300 applicants for 60 slots.

If there's over 300, that's a good thing because by the time they weed out the people who don't meet the requirements or have not taken the TEAS (trust me, it happens more than you know!), the number is lower. So 120 between Essex and Catonsville and around 40 for Essex E/W, that's a decent number for 300+! :-D Good luck everyone! The wait is slowly dwindling down... only a few more weeks.

That is why I applied to other programs. I couldn't put all my eggs in one basket this time. I have been accepted to two out of three programs I have applied for. By the time these results come in I will already have orientation for the seat I have accepted.

yes so many people apply as a crap shoot just to see what will happen... i think my chances of getting in are pretty good with all these people that will be weeded out...

Hey everyone....I applied to catonsville day. I'm dying waiting for my letter, I didnt get into Harford and took me a while to get over it so now I'm scared yet excited to hear from CCBC. Does anyone know how many applicants they got that were actually qualified?

I think that the pool is so large for this program I don't think I am going to be accepted to this program.

Good luck to everyone. :thankya:
