Hello everyone!! I finally have been verified on the CAS website and all I have to do is wait!! I got a 77 on my teas with 71 on reading section..., also 3.4 overall and 3.65 science gpa. I go to Towson university but earned an associates degree at ccbc. I also applied to Towsons' ATB program and i'm currently finishing up my last 3 prerequisites at Towson university: Stats, micro and nutrition. I'm hoping to get in and start this fall 2016!!! My friend also applied but she got a 64 on the reading section and overall 79 on her TEAS. Is there anyone who got in with a low reading section? I really want hope she gets in! share your teas scores and stats! hope to meet everyone =]

Hi there! I applied for the evening/weekend program at Essex and Frostburg for ATB. Everything verified on CAS last week, which was a relief since I waited a little longer than I should have to get things sent in. I'm taking Nutrition and Communications at CCBC this semester to finish up the prerequisites. I took the TEAS right before the deadline, and had a 91 on reading and 94 overall. Looking at past threads, people didn't find out if they were accepted until May, hopefully we'll find out sooner!

I applied day program at Essex, and ATB with Towson. I also applied UMBC nursing , and Twson. My teas is 82 and reading is 71.GA 4.o but I repeat 2 classes, so , hope I will go somewhere this Fall

Well you have more chances hehe, and I hope I get into ccbc because that's the only place I have applied. Good luck everyone =]

Grea Teas score!! I run out of time on the reading section and had to guess on 15 questions!!!

Hi there!

I'm currently in the day program at Catonsville. The TEAS score are tricky. They seem to look at them but not in very much detail. I know students who got in with low science, other with low reading, and others with math. I think they care that you pass it to be perfectly honest. We have a variety of students in our cohort...some with degrees (BA, BS, AA, etc.). Some have experience, others don't. To be perfectly honest, the folks with CNA licenses already had a few problems with how they were taught previously and how they are expected to do skills at CCBC so you're not at a complete disadvantage if you don't have experience!

As for finding out, it was May 1st! We didn't get our acceptance letters until later that week, however, there is a seat fee. They post the seat fee for students that are accepted to "hold" their seat in the class. It has to be paid by a deadline and then they anyone who declined/didn't pay, they look at the waitlist (to my understanding). So, it'll be the most excited you'll ever be to pay $200! So, I would say check the accounts/payment section for that.

I am also doing ATB at Notre Dame of Maryland (NDM). There are lots of folks at Towson and Frostburg from Catonsville. Not as many at NDM and Stevenson. I applied and got into all of the ATB programs and did a good amount of research so if anyone needs help, let me know!

I'm happy to answer any of your day program questions! I know when I was applying, I had questions about clinical, labs, lecture, exams, and much much more! Good luck guys!

marshall,

Thank you for sharing. Can you please tell me why you chose Notre Dame not towson and stevenson? My friend choose stevenson instead of towson because she said she likes the small class. Its seems also cost same between stevenson and towson. How much cost you at NDM? Do you have financial Aid

Thanks

Hey! I am applying for the Essex day program. I was wondering what the schedule is like. (I know it's not the same for both campus), like sort of a general idea. Also I wanted to know where the clinicals would be located. Thanks!

Hi there!

As far as ATB programs, I chose Notre Dame over others for a few reasons. Frostburg was out because I didn't see myself doing well in a solely online program. I wanted face to face rapport with other students and my professors. It came down to Stevenson, Towson, and Notre Dame. I've talked to a handful of students at the other two schools and it comes out to be about the same price. Apparently, Towson hits you with "hidden costs" like lab fees and little things. Also, Towson has more students. They've been doing the ATB a lot longer (which probably means they've ironed out the kinks). I just wanted a smaller cohort. Stevenson and NDM were my final two and I went with NDM because of the campus. I really liked the brand new nursing building. I got extremely sick my first semester (like hospitalized sick) and professors at both NDM and CCBC were so helpful in making up missed exams and stuff. I took an incomplete but made it up to stay on track with my cohort. Also, I have already had 2 externship opportunities offered from NDM! Great networking. I already have a BA so the timeframe would've been the same at any of the schools. NDM has worked really hard making my graduation date work quick! I would recommend touring each campus you're interested in and meeting with a coordinator. I'm sure you can speak with students in the ATB as well.

As for schedules, we had lecture for 153 (fundamentals) on M and W from 8-11. Then everyone except Frostburg had a professionalism course Monday's from 11:15-12:15. Frostburg and non-ATB students had physical assessment on Tuesdays. ATB (except Frostburg) took their health assessment with their program (Towson, Stevenson, and NDM) on Tuesday. Then we were all divided into 4 lab groups--Thursday 8-10:30, Thursday 11-1:30, Friday 8-10:30, and Friday 11-1:30. You sign up on a first come, first serve basis. You have lab until like mid-October and then clinicals start! You will do long-term care for like 2 weeks and then acute care for a few weeks. Some sites are HCGH, GMBC, St. Agnes, Union, Mercy, Good Sam, and NWH. All depends on who the school is working with that semester. Usually there are 6 students for one professor in clinical.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you guys have any other questions!

Thank you for sharing. :)

Thank you for your tips Marshall5281!

Hello, I applied to the Essex day program and the ATB program at Stevenson. I had a lot of problems with CAS claiming to have not received transcripts. I had to send them multiple times and in the end I could tell they received the first ones after all. I'm just glad that part is over!

Does anyone know when we will hear anything?
