USM Accelerated Program

U.S.A. Maine

Published

Hi there, I just wanted those interested to know that I graduated from the accelerated program and would be happy to answer any questions anyone has regarding it.

A friend of mine received a rejection letter today from the USM accelerated BSN program. It was surprising since this same person was just accepted at the accelerated BSN programs at UMass Amherst, Villanova (BSNExpress), and (ACE) . USM was not a top choice, but just wondering if out of state or nonUSM grads got in and what their credentials were?

I got a rejection letter today, too. I wonder if they prefer in-state residents? I applied from California. I have a 3.8 GPA from Stanford and straight-As in my prereqs so, who knows.

Wow!! Impressive credentials. Have you been accepted to other schools?

I have heard that it is super competitive to get into programs in California.

In the northeast, it seems to be easier to get into some of the privates than the state schools.

Best of Luck to you

No, USM was the first school that I heard back from and I don't think that I'll hear from anyone else until February. It's sort of a bummer to start off the holidays with a rejection. Oh, well.

California's impossible. Especially with the budget cuts. I'm literally not applying to a single school in California because the situation is so difficult here. The prerequisites that they require are absurd so, I'd need to be in school full-time for another two semesters to even be eligible to apply for the second degree programs at the state schools.

Abbie- I'm sorry to hear about not getting into school. I got my rejection letter in the mail too, everything is just so super competitive now. I guess it's back to the drawing board for me. But I'm sure once people get a grip on life about this "recession" then I HOPE things will level out again and applying won't be this hard!!!

Wishful,

I'm sorry that you didn't get in either. I wish you the best of luck! Something will work out for us.

A.
