It's all about hard work...you might have to change the way you study, among other things, but it's def. doable!!! I have a learning disability and actually have a bachelor's degree in Speech because I was so interested in the brain and why some people can learn better than others. But it's all about how you handle yourself, if you know you can't do certain skills, you might have to practice harder or study harder, longer, or more often. Listen to yourself and your body. Maybe you should seek a second-opinion or go for therapy. There are many techinques/strategies that can be learned for you to be successful!!! Good luck, and don't let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do!!! Go for it!

I feel like it might be easier, since I feel like I'm wasting time applying to programs that simply won't take me, I have an average GPA (3.12) and have taken A&P and got an A- and B+, so I feel competitive, but it's just not happening. I feel like if I get my foot through the door this way, it will be easier to complete a LPN-RN program... Thanks for your help!

I've been doing much research on going back to school to be a nurse...so far I've tried for 3 years to get into any program, community college, accelerated program, I am applying to a Direct Entry Master's this fall. All getting the same answer, too competitive, so many people are going back to be nurses...so my question is should I just start from the bottom and work my way up...get my LPN first and then bridge to RN and if I want BSN, MSN??? I just can't decide, I desprately want to go back to school and be a nurse, but I am starting to get discourage and I know I'm smart enough and motivated enough, hell I've come this far, which route should I go??! Can someone tell me what a typical day is like as a CNA?

You have to remember too, you are also human! Of course it's emotional draining, you don't like seeing people in situations where they are in pain, physical, emotional, or mentally...this doesn't mean you don't like nursing, I would just look at the parts you do enjoy and look for another speciality!

I'm in the same boat!! I emailed GBCC to see what their thoughts were, but still waiting to hear back. I'll let you know what I hear. It's discouraging knowing I already have another degree from a University and cannot get into a community college...

I don't know what else to do. I'm not the best test taker, but I already have a degree and taken all the necessary classes. Should I email or call to see what they were looking for or what else I can do to strengthen my application. I have no idea what I can do to get into school. I'm starting to get use to rejection.

So there could still be hope Crookededna, fingers crossed...So I should be getting a letter in the mail soon then from what other people are saying??!!

I would at least call and ask what number you on the list so you can get a picture in your mind if you have another options.

Crookededna, did you receive your letter from GBCC in the mail? I'm worried now since I've taken A&P I, and II as well as Micro. But I do have degree from UNH. My NLN scores were pretty good, but now I'm not sure what's good enough.

Quick question about the MGH program, I know this might be a silly question, but I've taken all of the pre-req except for chemistry...I have had chemistry in HS and have my Bachelors in Science in Speech...do I really need to take a course in Chemistry as well??? Thanks!
