  1. Jerlick - Do you know who to contact there to get a job?
  2. I received an acceptance letter this morning, but I am declining their offer. They request that all offers be accepted or refused by May 15th.
  3. I too am having a hard time choosing. If anyone wants to PM me and talk about it, please do.
  4. I spoke with an instructor who informed me that the internships are paid.
  5. I like that Simmons has summer courses and an easier course load. So for example, you're taking 3-4 classes a semester, as well as in the summer. This allows for them to have internships for 24 / 36 hours a week as part of the curriculum. I guess I'm not sure how much experience we'd get at MGH, but the program is supposed to be the best!
  6. I've sent in my deposit to MGHIHP, but I'm seriously considering Simmons as well. Do either of you have any insight?
  7. This may not help, but I received a letter in the mail yesterday from NEU informing me that I was placed on their waitlist and would hear about acceptance or rejection in September.
  8. I already spoke with them and they did offer that. I'm sure the academics are similar, but it's the overall experience that I'm concerned about. Diversity of clinical placements, focus on student needs, class size, post graduate job placements, etc. I'm hoping some other students interested in the same programs will be able to add to the debate. :) Redsox, where did you go? applying-de, how about you?
  9. Thank you for your response. I love the reputation of MGH but Simmons is right down the road from me, and the though of a lighter course load that continues though the summer is appealing. I have a lot of thinking to do. Thanks much!
  10. Redsox - I'm trying to decide between MGH and Simmons. I like the location of Simmons and the course load (spring, summer, fall, winter) as opposed to MGH where you have a heavier course load with summers off. When you talk to people around Boston, everyone says MGH MGH MGH. I really can't tell the difference besides name recognition. As a student intent on FNP, it seems like a toss up. Do you know who has more clinical time or any other differentiating criteria? Also, thanks for responding. !
  11. I'm not sure I want to believe the things the school has to say about itsself on its own website. I was hoping people who have either attended or know someone who has attended may have some insight.
  12. What makes Simmons a good school? I was accepted, but I'm not sure if I want to attend. Any news, comments?
  13. So Simmons and MGH folks... Has anyone any idea on how to decide? Currently I'm here: MGH has a great ranking and is very well respected. Everyone tells me I'll have no problem with them on my resume. Simmons is a hair cheaper, and has a lighter course load as they have summer courses. So far, that's it. How do you decide?
  14. Hi. I was accepted to both Simmons and MGH direct entry nursing program and have to choose. What are the pros and cons of each program? Thank you.
