Uncertain future

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Hello all,

I graduated in July as an LPN, and am currently going for my RN. At my school, you are required to achieve a 100% on the clinical calculations math test. You have a couple of tries. I only have one more attempt to get that 100%, otherwise I won't be able to continue on in the RN program. Due to different circumstances, it could be many years before I'm able to go back to RN school.

I'm worried about the job market as an LPN. I'm hearing that they're phasing out LPNs. Are any of you familiar with what the job market for LPN's is like around the Denver area?

It sounds as if you are already giving up on ever passing the dosage calculations exam. If I were you, I'd get a tutor to learn dimensional analysis and techniques on completing dosage calculations. And yes, having an RN license will open up opportunities for you.
