LPN in one state, RN in another??

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

So, I just recently passed my LPN boards in Illinois and I have not yet payed the licensure fee. I am wanting to take my NCLEX-RN in Indiana. Will that mean that I have to get an endorsement in Indiana for my LPN before I test for my RN in Indiana? When I send my information to test for Indiana will I need to send in verification of my LPN license even though I haven't paid registration? I've heard yes and no for both, so I was just wondering if anyone might know.

I don't mean to make light of your post and I apologize to the admin if my following statement is a non-sequitur but the OP's question reminds me of some friends I had growing up in the West Village years ago who were females in NYC and males in whatever state mom and dad lived in and vice versa for the opposite sex.

I am glad those days are sort of over.

Again, I apologize, but this thought, well, it just popped out. Too much coffee maybe.

LPN and RN are independent of each of other--you are not "going up a level." So you should not need to endorse your LPN license

over before getting RN licensure.
