Is it worth it to go to LPN school

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Hello, I have a delimma here and I would like some feedback. So I started school at my local community college and I started doing my classes for Nursing school. I only two semester left before I apply for a nursing school. Which means 4 classes. I wanted to do CNA or Patient Care Assistant to just work in it till I get into Nursing school and hopefully get scholarship. But I'm getting this grant that they would be able to help me pay for my classes but not my prerequisites, and I was told to instead do LPN whiich is 12 months. I wanted to do it, but now I'm thinking if I have only two semester to get into Nursing school why not wait and get the grant till Nursing school. Should I do LPN? Or just do the prerequisites and wait.

I would try for the RN program. Sometimes if you do not make the cut for the RN program you can still try for the LPN program then do a bridge program later.. I never count on any grant or scolarship money until it's in your account.. Things happen, funding runs out...so don't change your plans based on money you might get.

If you are able to get into the RN program without a waitlist, you should do it. Here in Michigan, our programs are filled to capacity for RN programs at community colleges. I am still on a waitlist for an RN program, but am finally accepted into an LPN programs and I will be bridging next year hopefully. There are alot of seats left in the LPN-RN programs, but none whatsoever in the RN programs.

Best wishes.

I need help with choosing what school to attend. I have been accepted to SAlt lake community college and the DATC. Does anyone know which has a better nursing program? at datc you get your LPN and then finish your RN through weber st. Has anyone attend one of these schools? Any advice would be great.
