whether you are doing teas, hesi or another enterance exam they all have similar questions. so i thought it would be nice to start a thread about study tricks or reminders for learning material.

i am trying to memorize conversion charts. so i came up with a cute little version of the song how much is that puppy in the window. :heartbeat

1 gallon is 4 quarts in my refrigerator (how much is that doggy in the window)

1 gallon is 128 ounces (the one with the waggley tail)

1 quart is 2 pints & 1 pint is 2 cups (how much is that doggy in the window)

1 cup is 8 ounces (i do hope that doggies for sale)

i cant figure anything out for memorizing

1 kilogram = 1,000 grams

1 gram = 1,000 milligrams

1 liter = 1,000 milliliters

oh here is another one

conversion formula for temperature (this is from my lpn book)

to convert from f to c

f - 32 divided by 1.8 = c

convert from c to f

(1.8 x c) + 32 = f

military time conversions

if under 9 am add a 0 to the front

if over 1 pm

add 12 to the time and there ya go!!!!

exception midnight 2400 or 0000 depending on the book or person or whatever

noon - 1200

anyone have any other suggestions or tips they use to memorize this stuff? songs, rhymes, silly sentences, etc. anything helps!!!!

This is adorable. DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE "NLN" PAX entrance exam? My school is telling me this is The Big One for getting in. Anxiously hoping for replies on NLN!
