NLN LPN Pre-Entrance Exam

I am due to take this test soon and hoping to get into Galen for the fall semester. Can anyone tell me what to expect from the test? How hard is it? I got my GED but have been out of high school for a long time and never took chemistry of any kind! Thanks! :)

I suggest you get the NLN LPN pre-entrance exam book and study off of it. Mine came with a disk for practice testing and solutions. It's very helpful. It'll be about a 4hr test, don't concentrate too long on things you don't know cause you'll just waste it trying to figure it out and time will run out fast. Take a guess and move on. A guess is better than a blank answer. Good luck!

Good luck I'm sure you will do fine! Just buy the study guide and USE it daily! I loved the cd that comes with it. I did a section each day until the day of my test. The science was the hardest section for me :uhoh3: I took the RN entrance test a couple of weeks ago. Are you going to Galen in tampa?

I also bought the LPN pre-entrance exam study guide book. Its great! I'm horrible in math and it really is helping. I aslo got my GED back in 2005. I'm taking the pre entrance exam the end of this month. Good luck to you!

I went to my local library and they do not have it. They won't have it until 4weeks from now. I borrowed the Nclex-Rn instead would that help me?

I'm not sure if the Nclex-Rn book would help because I never used it. But if you live in Maryland, the library assistant can look it up to see if they have it at another library and she can put it on hold for you so you could pick it up. That's what I did. Goodluck

I am gearing up to take the entrance exam myself so having little money I went to my staple ebay to find a used copy for a reasonable price. The 3rd edition(2008) of the book is the newest one and it cost about $25 on amazon.com right now, that isn't a bad price but I'm always going to try and find a deal before I pay full price. I found a few of the older 2nd edition(2003) copies listed on ebay so I am bidding on one right now. If I don't win the auction for a low price I'm just going to spring for the newer one on amazon. I hope you can find one for your exam. When are you taking the test?

Hi, Do you or anyone know if there have been any significant changes to the test between 2003 when the 2nd edition of the study guide came out and 2008 when the 3rd edition came out? I don't want to waste time and money on the 2nd edition if its super outdated by the test being changed alot between the editions.

i found a book an amazon for about $24. im taking my LVN entrance exam in about 16 days. im soooo scared! i haven't been in school in a while and ive always been HORRIBLE at math. embarrassingly horrible. so im very nervous about that. so im going to start studying tomorrow. i just keep thinking "what if i fail? what if i dont get in" ughh its really starting to freak me out lol :uhoh21:
