New to this school thing and have a tuition question

Im going to apply to this LPN school, and it can be completed in one year. The tuition says "Tuition may be paid in two payments – half of the tuition is due prior to beginning the program, the second half is due at the midway point of the program."

If Im applying for financial aid, and get a decent amount, would that be in effect right away, so that I can pay for the first half, or would the school take that amount right away to go towards it? Im not sure how this exactly works. We are responsible for ALL costs such as uniforms, textbooks, name tag, malpractice insurance premium and graduation costs. They say that an insert about the info would be sent in the mail. But Id like to know about what to expect before hand. Any help to clarify this would be great. Thanks!

Call and talk with the financial aid officier at your potential school. Usually the school will wait for their money if you have "financial aid in process". Sometimes you can borrow over the amount of tuition so you can pay for uniforms, books, etc. Only the financial aid officier will be able to help you clarify since he/she will know your exact need and potential award amount.

Financial aid is wonderful. All the hoops you have to jump through really stink! Luckily, this year our school let us keep an account at the bookstore and then they automatically deducted it somehow.

Every school is probably different so you will have to call financial aid office.

The school probably most likely means by that statement that the amount of tuition that is not covered by financial aid can be paid in two payments. I.e lets say your tuition was $100 ( that would be nice) and financial aid was $50 then you could pay the remaining in two $25 installments

My school offered me that deal but I am opting to pay for it all upfront as it would be horrible to be have way through and come up short considering I have the funds now but I can see how paying in installments would make alot of sense for most people.
