hi,i'm an lpn student..not in texas but they are all the dame.i'm in a one yr tech college.i'm going to start my clinical in two months time.all i can say is you must be mentally ready.in my school we have 2 test weekly.it's really a fast passed program.you must pass everything in every level to go ahead.

another thing..i don't know how you are going to pay for it..but i bet you it's the same way all over..cash...if you fall too much behind in payments they let you go too..even if you are making a's...

so when you start..have a clear conciours and be ready.

good luck dear, hope it helpd to culm you down.

Specializes in LTAC, Wound Care, Case Management.

I graduated in March 09 in FL. It is a very intense year. Congratulations on being accepted, that is half the battle.

Take this time to relax. Enjoy time with your family and mentally prepare. There were times when we had 6-7 exams in a week. You will get all the information you need to learn in school. Before starting school, have plans for anything that could happen this year. If you have kids, have child care arrangements and have a back up (and a back up for your back up). Since LPN school is only 1 year, attendance is a big deal; at least at my school. If you miss more than the allotted days, you will be dismissed from the program. So, if you plan now for anything that could go wrong and have plans in place it will make it much easier on you while you are trying to study, etc.

Good luck to you in school. It's an intense year, but so worth it!!
