Well, can u keep post explaining how everything goes for the week?

b/c i too finished all my sciences @ my local college and graduated with an AA degree in nursing but was not able to get in the college for nursing school. So i applied to a tech school for the lpn program so i will be able to go back to the college for lpn-rn transition.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!:yeah:

I'm so excited for you!

I start LVN school in June and I can NOT wait!

Please do keep posting so we know how it goes!

I am in my 2nd semester of LVN school and this is what was told to me when I first started, so I thought I would pass along these suggestions to you.

1. Do not get behind in the reading

2. Do not get caught up in the drama

3. Ask questions...even if you think they are stupid...someone might have the same question, but to afraid to ask

4. When studying for a test read everything...do not rely on what the instructor tells you that will be on the test

5. Form a study group ...if you can teach the material to someone else, you have masterd the subject.

6. Do not get frazzeled if you can not remember a skill...

7. Nursing is a journey that takes time to develop your skills

8. Try to study at least 2 - 3 hours everynight so you do not get behind

9. Take good notes and compare notes with another classmate...they might have something witten that you missed

10. Communicate with your instructors if you are having problems

11. Breathe, and remember that we are all in the same boat so feel free to vent here if needed.

Best of luck to you and look forward to hearing how it is going for you.:nurse:

Hi, there...

I have a dumb question to ask...what is a lightpen? I know lots of nursing students on this site said they used them but dont know what it's for. I'm planning to go to LVN school next year:)

my pen light is purple (outside).....it was required the first week of clinicals......we have not used it right now....we are still learning and the pen light is just attached to my lower right pocket....i'll let you know when i use it!
