Just and update/my Testimony

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

The last thread I made I shared my exciting experiences of my clinical rotation of my second semester of my LPN program and how I was looking forward to graduating the next semester which was supposed to be August 2013. Well to keep it short and simple I failed OB by 3 points, which was completely on me I ended up missing a lot of class and study time for personal circumstances. I did pass Adult Health I. Instead of being able to retake the class that summer I had to take a Med Term course ( Which I already had taken and Got an A but it didn't count in my cumulative GPA since it was transferred in along with all my prerequisites so they don't count.) In order to bring my GPA up.

Fall 2013 I took Mental Health which is one of the Senior level courses I was able to go on and take it, by me having to wait a year to retake OB. Two weeks before school started my husband and I found out that we were having a baby! It was the happiest moment of our lives, Referred to our baby as a miracle baby since I was told that I couldn't have kids without fertility treatments. Everything was going good my school was very supportive and even layed out a plan for me to complete my clinical hours for the next semester early since my due date was April 3,2014.

Just one week after finding out we were having a boy I went into Preterm labor I was dilated 3.5 cm with buldging bow I was just 21wks. Long story short I was on bedrest for 2 weeks went into labor again on December 1st and had a emergency csection he died an half hour afterwards he was 23 wks and 4days. Pain, depressed, heartbroken, and the question of why and what went wrong was a struggle for me and my husband. The Drs. Couldn't find anything that could have caused what happened. I wasn't working after I found out about me being pregnant nor was I stressed over anything or school I was only taking one class one day a week. Its still hard for me till this day to accept the fact that things like this just happens.

Well as for school, when I went into the hospital all I had left to do was take my final exam. No matter what I was going to full fill my dream of being a nurse. I took an incomplete till I got physically and mentally prepared. A week after getting out the hospital I took my final and aced it and passed the class. I give God all the glory!

Spring 2014 I'm retaking my Maternal and Child and I haven't made below a B on any of my exams! I thought clinicals was going to take a toll on me but it didn't I got to help those mother's overcome their fears and get them on their way it reminded me of why I want to be a nurse. I have days where I can't help but to cry because of the constant reminder but I'm learning what I can or can't do for the next time. I'm thankfull to have this chance to continue on I have 3 weeks till finals and 3 more tests and 3 computer test till then I'm confident and have faith and I claim it that I am going to make it!

This summer I am taking Adult Health (Med Surg) 2 and Roles and Transition.

Just wanted to continue sharing my story to inspire others that no matter what obstacles we face we can still do what ever we want to do and accomplish. I would've made it through and continue to without Jesus Christ. The closer I get the Devil tries to come at me any way that he can but I stay on the path God lays out for me and I move forward and walk by faith. I also have a great support system which is my Husband he put his emotions to the back to help me deal with mine. Remember that no matter what don't give up.!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. Thank you for your update....it truly is inspiring, as is your faith. Big hugs to you.
