Hi I am going to cna classes on july 2. I was just wondering do you guys think its possible to work as a cna part time and try to find a major that will take care of pre-reqs for physician assistant and lvn(los angeles,ca). I'm trying to work as a cna part time and eventually become a lvn without actually leaving the pre-reqs(pa) alone? Do physician assistant and lvn have the same same pre-reqs? ALSO WHAT MAJOR SHOULD I MAJOR IN? BIOLOGY OR NURSING? I have to get a bachelors and do the reqs for pa school. I just dont want to drop out and just focus on lvn. I want to do both at the same time

It is unlikely that pa and lvn will have same prereqs. But you can go to the pa schools website to find out for sure. Also in my area- northern Cali, the lvn prereqs vary from program to program. Regarding whether you can work as a CNA and go to school, I think the answer is yes. I currently work as a CNA and just completed 11 units.Regarding completing prereqs for multiple programs at once, I found that to be nearly impossible because of the variances. I was able to add one class to my schedule which will qualify me to apply to the lvn programs run thru the community colleges as well as to the BSN and 2 adn programs (state and community college run) Hth!

thanks vintagemother for that answer.....im just worried i will have to drop something.....i want to become a lvn just being a cna is fine but u want to aim for something better you no...i really dont want to drop the pre-reqs for pa i wanna succed!!!
