Hi I'm new here, I would like to know if anyone has attended the LVN progran at

Gurnick in Modesto ot Xavier in Stockton? Any info and advise is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

To simplify your decision, attend the school with the cheaper tuition. They are both private trade schools with expensive tuition, and both educations will result in the exact same LVN license, so you might as well go to the school that will cause you to incur the least amount of debt.

Thank you for your quick responce! I only new about Gurnick so I've already did my FASFA and testing. I enroll sept 2, it's 30 min from home, Xavier is 10 min! I wonder if switching at this time would with the finacial aspect in mind would be allowed?

Is anyone attending the LVN program at Gurnick in Modesto? (prereqs start october and program in January 2012)

I am a student at Gurnick Concord and if you paid the $75 enrollment fee, they will not refund that back to you. Since you have already done the FA, you might as well stay there. I am loving my experience at Gurnick and graduating in 6 months...can not wait!

I'm enrolled at Gurnick Modesto and so excited! Start in 6 wks, can't wait! Congrats only 6 months to go.. How hard is it? I know I'll struggle in math, conversions etc :)

The prereq class and Module 1 are the easiest classes...once you get into Module 2 & Module 3, everything you learned up to this point is stepped up a notch! The reason being is that you have a lot of information thrown at you and there is a lot of HW, reading, and studying plus you do not get a break between the two modules.

Pharmacology is really hard and requires a lot of studying, writing and a boat load of HW! Trying to manage clinical two days a week, and doing case studys, drug cards, ect then trying to study Pharm and Med-Surg and all the HW, studying and reading is really difficult. Then when you get into Module 4, you have a test EVERYDAY you are in class, along with clinical two days a week and field trips!

The time in the program goes fast, but really fast paced.

Oh my goodness. That's alot haha! I will need good study habits and techniques that's for sure. I'm so excited and like a fast past environment. index cards & mnemonics help me alot

I found out today the school will refund through route of owed fees for A&P I purchased on my own! That's pretty cool!:yeah:

I am starting october in modesto looking foward to it. Iam doing the morning class.

Sanisbltz, Hey there, I'm going there too, but I'm in the evening class. Are ya ready for all the hw & studying :) Im excited to start and a little nervous. I hear it's alot of work but well worth it! There's good info/help here on this site from students/nurses! Well the count down begins...10 days to go! haha

I am more excited than nurveous lol . I bet it will be challanging but well worth it, time is passing by so fast that when we least expect it we will be almost finished :).
