Hi, does anyone know anything about an exit nln test for pn students. My school is giving us this test and we are lost. I have never heard about this tpye of exit test. HELP!! Does anyone have any ideas, or know where I can get some study material for this.

Thanks desperate. :(

If I recall correctly it's an NCLEX style comprehensive examination (not really designed to be considered an exit exam but a predictor of a student's potential to pass the NCLEX) When I was in school we used a NCLEX prep book to prepare for our NLN exams at the ATI books/resources to prepare for the ATI exams.

If you understand how to answer NCLEX-style questions and mastered the majority of the content throughout your program you should be fine.

Yes, we had it also. It was an NCLEX style test and was supposed to identify your weakness, as I recall. I do remember I didn't pay much attention to it because it supposedly didn't count for anything. Our teacher told us some people did really lousy and needed to be better prepared but didn't specifically identify me so I didn't worry (actually, I think I was so tested out by that time that if it didn't count, I didn't care). My advise is to not stress about it, just try and do your best.

Thanks for the info.

What study material did you use?

Thanks

I used my school textbooks & study guides as they had many NCLEX style questions. If you don't like your text books try an NCELX-PN study guide, you'll be able to also use it to prepare for your NCLEX post graduation. There are no "alternate format" questions on the NLN comprehensive (at least there weren't when i took the exam)

I used the Saunders NCLEX-PN and I felt it was pretty helpful. Also used some of my textbooks, especially med-surg. I remember our teacher kept saying "always consider safety first - Airway, Breathing and Circulation" and she was right. The tests you've been taking all year are the same format as NCLEX so you should kind of be used to it.

Good luck,
