Concorde vs. American Career College

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

I have done my research and realize that this is the more expensive route to go, but does anyone know if one of these schools is better than the other? American starts sooner in my area, but I do not know if it is up to standard like Concorde. Thanks for the feedback! :>)

if your in LA try Career Colleges of America . They have a higher NCLEX pass rate the ACC or concorde .

I would rate clinical experiences over nclex pass rates. You passing the NCLEX is something you can be proactive about and make sure you pass. A bad clinical rotation you can't

Very true, but here's the problem . I went to westcoast university to check out their RN program and the conselor talked me into taking the entrance exam (even though I have not decided where I'm going after graduating from CCA) anyways I ended up taking it with 9 other lvn's from american career college and concorde . To be fair I was the only lvn student from career colleges of america,we all traded stories about our schools good and bad, after awhile we took the test and I was the ONLY student that past the RN entrance exam the ladies from American career college and concorde failed, but that's just my experience there both great schools I'm sure. In my case the education I'm getting reasured me I choose the right place for me.So goodluck with your choice.

I've taken the entrance exam at westcoast bc I was considering t before I ruled it out but the entrance exam was EXTREMELY and many of my classmates have passes it no problem and we haven't graduated it. The students you met were just probably unexpectional students full stop not everyone is bright.

can anyone that goes to or went to concorde in garden groce cali give me some insight as to wether or not its a good choice for the lvn program? if the entrance exam is hard..cause i heard its about 2-3 hrs long

im about to go to concorde but im really scared as to wether or not im making the rigth choice...i;m sooo confused abotu everest, acc, or concord. I live in orange county california n cant seem to decide as to what school what college is better acdredited and more of my mones worth...

I too am looking for a school to prepare for LVN license exam. I have worked in the IT industry for over 17 years and have always yearned in becoming a CRNA. I'm in my mid 30's and need a solid foundation while still providing some sort of income to the household.

Between ACC, Concorde, Summit & Pacific, there seems to be more positive remarks & comments towards ACC. I agree with the many users that have posted stating, whichever school is attended, "You" will make the most of it.

Still, I need assistance.. My longterm plan is to become an LVN, work @ a long term care facility for about 1-2 years while going through the LVN-RN bridge. Which of the above schools is the majority winner when it comes to the LVN program?

Saddleback College has a great bridge program and are well respected. Ultimately, BSN then to become a CRNA.

I would appreciate feedback so I may properly plan my future in the healthcare field.

ACC has beefed up of late to improve themselves so I would recommend them based on that alone and of course that's where I went and the clinical experiences seemed to be better than what alot of the other schools were getting.

However.... While I complement you on having ambition just know that every male in my class expressed a desire to be a CRNA and every single one of them seemed to be more interested in the exciting stuff that being an all round good nurse. Do yourself a favor don't be one of those guys it will serve you well in the long run.

Feel free to PM me.

I am at ACC, and have had a very positive experience so far. It is hard - strict dress code, at least two exams every week and penalties for coming in 5 minutes late or being absent. I think it has helped most of our class to shape up. Those who couldn't handle it have dropped out already. They're trying to get us ready for the real world of nursing.

And I'm learning a ton. It's a major committment to keep up with all the stuff they throw at us. But it's also fair. The exams can be tough, but not impossible.

Just a word about community college: The waiting lists are super long and getting longer all the time. Plus, they are likely to make you re-take any general eds that are "old," even if they have nothing to do with nursing. To be fair, I have had no experience with Saddleback. I wasted the past two semesters at OCC before I gave up on them. But if Saddleback is an exception, please feel free to correct me.

So you have one vote for ACC.

Best of luck to you.

Hey there. You are around the same age I was when I attended Concorde in Denver, Colorado. I really feel that Concorde was indeed the winning choice! It was not an easy program (okay, it kicked my butt) but I wouldn't change a thing. After graduation, I worked with various LPN's from other schools in the area (also new grads) and it was not until then that I realized just how well the program had prepared me. By all accounts do your homework so you can make an informed decision, but as far as I am concerned, Concorde was heads above on many levels!

Hi - Just wanted to know what the absent and Tardy policies are at ACC?
