Classes before LPN school?

Hi, I am looking to start an LPN program, but I just missed the last test to get in. I have to wait another year to apply. I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do in the meantime to work towards becoming an LPN. After the LPN program I want to do LPN to RN bridge program. Is it beneficial to take classes at a college to work towards this? Or volunteer at a hospital ?

thanks a lot !!

I was just accepted into my LPN to RN program. I had to do all the pre-reqs because my LPN pre-reqs didn't transfer. I guess in theory you could do all of your bridge program pre-reqs before even going to LPN school. BUT most of the pre-reqs for my bridge program are the same for the traditional students. I would just take the pre-reqs and apply for the traditional RN program. If you starts on them this summer, chances are you could just apply for the RN program in a year and skip the LPN program.

If that is not what you want to do, get your CNA, and be a tech in a hospital!
